Meet Audrey Baryagye
My name is Baryagye Audrey, born on September 15, 1976, to George Baryagye and Beireeta Jadridah in a large, polygamous family of 20 siblings. Growing up in a household where resources were scarce, my parents struggled to provide for all of our basic needs, and none of us advanced beyond primary school. Despite these challenges, I found resilience and determination to pursue vocational training in tailoring and knitting after completing primary education, setting the foundation for my future in empowering others.
On November 28, 2000, I married Rodgers Musasizi, and shortly after, I experienced the joys and trials of motherhood. While pregnant with twins, I faced serious health issues that left me feeling uncertain and fearful. Despite multiple visits to hospitals and receiving inadequate explanations for my condition, I turned to prayer. It was during this challenging period that I fully embraced my faith, accepting Christ into my life, which became a pivotal moment for me both spiritually and personally.
This transformation fueled my desire to not only overcome my struggles but also to help others do the same. I found my calling in service and leadership, driven by a passion to uplift those around me, especially women and children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Joining Passionate Hearts Ministries as the Director of Skills has allowed me to channel my story of resilience and faith into tangible action. Through this role, I have been privileged to oversee a variety of impactful programs that provide vocational training, mentorship, and income-generating opportunities for marginalized communities.
Under my leadership, Passionate Hearts Ministries has expanded its skills-training programs, offering courses in: tailoring and knitting, mechanics, Textile Decoration and Crafts, Welding, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, we have launched several community-driven income-generating initiatives, including piggery, crop farming, and bee-keeping, all of which provide vital resources and support to women and youths seeking to improve their livelihoods.
I am passionate about using my experiences to uplift others, knowing that true transformation comes when we work together to create lasting change in our communities.
Through my work, I am dedicated to providing opportunities for people to gain the skills, confidence, and support they need to rise above their circumstances, become self-reliant, and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
